AI Resume Analyzer
Upload a resume and get an honest score, a job match, and an improved version you can download.
- The problem
Job seekers send many applications and hear nothing back, and nobody tells them why.
- What I did
Built a free tool that reads a resume the way an ATS and a recruiter would, scores it, matches it to a job and rewrites it.
- The result
Five scores, a job match and a fix-first list from one upload, plus an improved PDF or Word resume. No sign-up, nothing stored.
The short version
Think of it as a friendly recruiter who never gets tired. You give it your resume. It reads every line and tells you what's good, what's missing and what to fix first. If you say which job you want, it also estimates how likely you are to be shortlisted. Then it can rewrite your resume for you — without inventing anything — and you download the new version as a PDF or Word file.
What it is
Most resumes are read by software before a person ever sees them. This tool shows people how their resume looks to that software and to a recruiter, section by section, and then helps them fix it. It runs on this website, needs no sign-up, and never stores the resume.
Why I built it
Job seekers send many applications and hear nothing back, without knowing why. Applicant tracking systems (ATS) filter resumes by keywords and structure, and most free checkers give a vague score with no clear next step.
What it had to do
- Give a clear score and explain where it comes from
- Show the match against a specific job, not just a generic score
- Turn feedback into a ready-to-send resume in one click
- Never invent experience the person doesn't have
- Work on any phone, with no account and no stored data
What it does
Accepts PDF, Word (DOCX), TXT and photos of a resume
Five scores: Overall, ATS, Format, Readability and Impact
Section-by-section review with a score, feedback and suggestions for each part
Optional target role or a full job description
Job match: estimated shortlist chance, match score, keyword match and experience vs. the job
Requirement checklist — met, partly met or missing — with the evidence from the resume
Warnings for things that could get a resume rejected automatically
Keywords found and missing, strengths, top fixes by priority and quick wins
“Build My Improved Resume”: every change shown as before → after, with the reason
Download the improved resume as PDF or Word in a clean, ATS-friendly layout
Step by step
- 1
Read the file
PDF, Word, text and image resumes are read right in the browser and turned into clean text.
- 2
AI review
An AI model reviews the resume and returns a structured report. If one model is unavailable, another takes over automatically, so the visitor still gets a result.
- 3
Consistent scoring
The AI provides the evidence; the job-match score is then calculated with fixed rules, so the same resume always gets the same score.
- 4
Show the results
Scores, the job match, keywords and a prioritised to-do list appear with smooth animations, on desktop and phone.
- 5
Rewrite and export
On request, the AI rewrites the resume without inventing anything. A quality check makes sure the new version really is better. The PDF and Word files are created in the browser.

Problems I solved
PDFs wouldn't open on some phones
PDF reading failed on older iPhone and Android browsers. I switched to a more compatible reader with a fallback, so phones read PDFs too.
AI answers that could break the page
AI models sometimes return incomplete answers. Every answer is checked before it's shown, and a bad one is retried automatically.
Scores that changed every time
Letting the AI pick the number made scores jump between runs. Now the score comes from fixed, weighted rules, so results are repeatable.
Rewrites that barely changed anything
Some rewrites came back almost unchanged. A quality check now catches this and asks again, keeping the version that improved more.
Privacy
A resume is personal. Files are processed only to produce the report and are never saved.
Takeaways
- Use AI for judgement, and plain rules for anything that must be consistent
- Plan for the AI being slow, busy or wrong — fallbacks are part of the product
- Test on real phones early; desktop-only testing hides the hardest bugs
